Visual FoxPro Framework by Microsoft (microsoft.com) is a Windows-based development platform and reusable class library for building data-centric desktop applications. It combines an object-oriented programming language with a fast, file-based database engine, enabling rapid development of forms, reports, and business logic. The framework includes the Visual FoxPro Foundation Classes (FFC) for common UI and application services, supports data binding and cursor-based data manipulation, and integrates with external data sources through ODBC/OLE DB and SQL pass-through. COM automation provides interoperability with Microsoft Office and other Windows technologies. Although Microsoft ended active development after Visual FoxPro 9.0, the framework continues to support many line-of-business systems due to its performance, small footprint, and mature tooling.
